THE FOREST

A calming visual story that shows the emotions behind a poem about the connection of nature and humanity.

THE FOREST

This video enhances the narrative of the poem The Forest with visual imagery, conveying a story about the relationship between humanity and nature. It aims to encourage people to reflect more deeply on their lives and to foster greater interest in poetry. As trees gather one by one, they form a vibrant forest, teeming with diverse wildlife. The different creatures in the forest function as metaphors for the events, emotions, and varied personalities that shape our lives. These creatures, at times, evoke fear or joy in people, much like the myriad emotions experienced in human interactions. Through the captivating imagery of the poem The Forest, we are invited to contemplate the parallels between the natural world and our own lives.

TEXT ANALYSIS

After reading the original poem, I highlighted the words and passages that stood out to me. While recording my narration, I took notes on the following page, outlining how I planned to reinterpret and translate these key words into visual elements.

STORYBOARD

Created ten different images that illustrated the text. I represented the speaker in the poem as a human or as myself and designed an initial thumbnail to plan the imagery. I then gradually refined the visuals to better align with the poem's narrative. Also, I researched the visual components to effectively express the video and communicate it to the audience. I focused on elements like rhythm, texture, and direction, aiming to create variations in intensity and convey emotion.
