Heart racing professional life

Meeting someone’s life in its entirety, that in itself is an honor.

Last weekend, I visited an exhibition that made me reflect again on a figure who has left a lasting impression on me, André Leon Talley.

His name endures beyond time. Although he is no longer with us, his attitude and philosophy continue to influence the world around us.

I also recalled a film that left a deep mark on me, The Devil Wears Prada, and I recently heard that it is being re-released this year. Watching it for the first time, I remember thinking, “How can a world like this even exist?” What captivated me then was not the glamour but the world of professionalism behind it.

The character Nigel Kipling was inspired by André Leon Talley, while Miranda Priestly evokes the real-life presence of Anna Wintour.

Behind the dazzling runways, someone ensures everything is flawlessly executed yet often receives no recognition.

The real hero behind the scenes.

Sources everything flawlessly and never gets the credit.

This is the person he was.

No one is perfect from the start. Just as a square is gradually rounded by bumps and collisions, experiences shape a person.

The time spent refining oneself ultimately becomes the world that person inhabits.

I remain fascinated by that world of professionalism, perhaps like Andy Sachs in the beginning, entering that world knowing almost nothing yet learning and growing along the way.

For anyone interested in exploring professional growth and mentorship through film, I also highly recommend The Intern. It is a story about learning, collaboration, and discovering new perspectives in a world you initially know very little about, much like Andy’s journey.

I’m also looking forward to the upcoming release of The Devil Wears Prada 2.
